SEMOPS is a real time payment service for both proximity and remote transactions. While the remote channels – SMS, GPRS/3G, and internet – are fast and convenient the proximity transactions so far had to rely on infrared communication, or SMS. The new version of the SEMOPS POS terminal, that is a standard card acceptance device with an additional software application, will use NFC to communicate with the customers’ mobile handset, to provide the transaction details for payment.
